Lolita Cardigan PATTERN
The Lolita Cardigan is designed to be the perfect layer for the seasonal transitions.
The main body is knitted with delightful 100% brushed alpaca yarn on large needles, which will create a drapey, airy, extra soft and light as a feather fabric which will both provide warmth thanks to the fluffy alpaca, as well as not being too hot due to the large size of the stitches. The cuffs, hem and neckline are then knitted with a very soft and plushy 100% Merino DK, with two strands held together to add a very stretchy and squishy structure to the final piece to add longevity and ease of wear, and to provide the cardignan with the cropped and bubble shaped look.
Whilst knitting the cardigan, you can choose between two options, The Spring (Light version) and the Autumn (Heavy) version.
The Spring version holds only one strand of Alpaca for the body, which provides a slight see through fabric and delicate finish, whilst the Autumn version holds two strands, providing a much warmer, cushier fabric for the cooler months.
The cardigan is knitted bottom up back and forth and the sleeves are knitted in the round.

- SIZE & MEASUREMENTS-
This Cardigan is designed to be very oversized and although it offers a tone of stretch, it is meant to be worn as a relaxed fit, meaning the fabric should sit and drape naturally without being stretched for the best fit.
The hem of the cardigan is what determine the overall fit, and is designed to have about 5” of positive ease.
The body of the cardigan, at its widest point, should have about 25” to 30” of positive ease. Because of this, to determine which size you should knit, scroll down to the photos, you will find the sizing table. It is based on your waist circumference instead of chest, because the tighest point of the cardigan is the Hem.
NOTE: Where I would usually provide more sizes above XL for inclusivity, this shouldn’t be needed here as explained above, the body of the cardigan provides up to 30” of positive ease unstretched, and the hem can stretch to double in lenght, so for the size XL, the hem can cover a waist circumference of about 85- 95” when stretched.

ALPACLOUD has 150m per 50gr - CLASSIC 8ply has 200m per 100gr
NOTE: These measurements are based on the Classic 8ply CC, and the Alpacloud MC. These might vary depending on the type of wool used. Please make sure to purchase enough yarn (especially for the MC) if using a different wool than recommended to avoid running short, and swatch to make sure it fits with the pattern!
